Scheduling

• Surgeries are normally scheduled Tuesday & Thursday, but please see our schedule page. 

Surgery Day Schedule 

•  Check-in 7:45-9:00am. For directions click here.

• Surgery 9:00-4:00pm. The clinic is closed during surgery, but you may call us (405) 217-9700.

• Discharge is usually 4:30-5:30pm. You may be given a more accurate time at check-in.

Before Surgery Instructions

• Please bring Cats in a carrier and Dogs on a leash.
• If you have an outdoor cat, please catch him/her the night before.
• Pets under 16 weeks (4 months) of age or under 5 pounds should NOT be fasted. Please maintain their regular feeding schedule, just be conservative on the morning of surgery. 
• All others: No food after 7:00pm the day before surgery; nothing the morning of surgery; and access to water should NOT be restricted.
• Please allow your pet a chance to eliminate the morning of surgery.

• Check-in is from 7:45-9:00am. If you are going to be late, please call; if you arrive after 9:30am, you will need to call (405) 217-9700 to reschedule.
• For your convenience, we accept cash, credit, and debit cards. You can pay at check-in or discharge. See the Pricing page to determine your total.
• Give your pet a chance to eliminate the morning of surgery.

After surgery care

Post-op Care (provided on your discharge form):

1. Please feed your pet conservatively the night of surgery. No special snacks or treats as the anesthetic medication can cause nausea/vomiting. Resume normal feeding the following day.
2. Especially females, restrict activity strictly for 3 days, return to normal activity in 10 days.
3. Especially male dogs, no licking the incision. The incision will swell, become irritated, and the stitches may come out.
4. Except male cats, check incision daily for signs of excessive redness, soreness, swelling, or drainage.
5. If you notice signs of fever (depressed and not eating), please call the aftercare number at the bottom of your medical record sheet right away.
6. Incisions are closed with stitches that dissolve over the next several months. On top of that is tissue glue that wears off over the next 7-10 days.
7. If bathing becomes necessary, sponge bathe only for 3 days. The 4th day after surgery, you may bathe your pet if necessary.
8. Females, next to the incision you will find a small green tattoo, showing that your pet has been spayed.
9. Outdoor cats should be contain until at least the morning after surgery when anesthetic medication has been eliminated from their system.
10. When you follow up with your primary care veterinarian, please take a copy of your medical record sheet to keep your pet's file complete.
